New Home-Owners, New Possibilities

The new homeowners loved the Encino Park area they choose to live in San Antonio, TX, but knew that their home selection needed some updating and improvements before it could become their “dream home.”  After hearing positive reviews of our company from friends and neighbors, they choose Renovate Paint and Design to help make this happen.

Phase 1: Update floors and walls

The flooring throughout the living spaces (master bedroom, stairs, living room, dining rooms, and kitchen) were finished out with new flooring:  beautiful engineered hardwood, hand scraped, and having a locking system.  A fresh coat of durable paint was applied throughout these areas enhancing the newness of their home.

Phase 2: The New Look in the Bathrooms

The Master Bathroom was transformed with carefully selected granite countertops, ceramic tile (with the appearance of Travertine style) flooring and tub/shower surround, and seamless glass which transformed a plain bathroom into a welcome retreat.  There were some “opportunities” with plumbing and carpentry which RPD professionally resolved.  One of the best features is the granite countertop.  This natural stone comes in many gorgeous shades and patterns.  Adding complimentary ceramic or natural stone-tile, such as Travertine, brings the whole room together.

The two additional full bathrooms were also altered in several ways.  First, wallpaper was removed in one while both received updated paint colors.  Plus, both had their countertops replaced, new sink with fixtures installed and floor laminate replaced with ceramic tile.

Phase 3: A Face Lift for the Fireplace / Living Area

The fireplace in this home was nondescript painted brick without a hearth.  While the customer had a vision of giving the fireplace a face lift, we were able to take his concept and bring it to life.  RPD constructed a hearth and applied a stacked stone veneer on the exterior of the old painted brick.  For the finishing touch we capped the hearth with a flagstone.  While in the living room area, RPD also enclosed a “pony-wall” which previously was used as a planter.  Having this topped-off by creating a shelf allows this area to better maintained and adds additional décor possibilities. The combination of the flooring, new colors on the walls and new fireplace face lift brought inviting warmth to this living space.

Phase 4: Entertainment on the Exterior

Renovate Paint and Design is often given the opportunity to improve or add-on to exteriors thereby increasing the space for entertainment and family enjoyment.  Covered, closed-in patios, and/or decking are a few of the improvements we can create.  In this case, the back decks were constructed out of 2X8 floor joints with hurricane hangers that support the treated deck floorings.  Solidly built, it’s strong enough to, potentially, hold an elephant and durable enough to last for years.  The handrails and steps add to the overall appeal and safety.  This is a great way to add value to your home and provides a great excuse for the avid Barbeque cook.
