Drawing inspiration for a project is key, it can help give you focus and meet the home improvement goal you’ve got your mind set on. However, it is equally as important to maintain realistic expectations and be conscious of the time and cost your dream job will take.

Although you may flip on the TV, or through a magazine, and see a kitchen remodel that you absolutely adore, it’s important to remember that channels like HGTV, Home and Garden, and others, advertises home improvement and remodeling as a breezy occupation that doesn’t take much time. They simply show you snippets of the actual work that is needed to be put into those jobs; like most television, it is romanticized. That’s not to say you shouldn’t draw inspiration from HGTV, because I’ll admit some of their designs are brilliant, however, don’t invest in a project and expect it to be as simple as making pie.

Underestimating the expense of a project is a major roadblock for many customers; like most things in life, nothing well made comes cheap. For example, if you are looking to remodel the entirety of your bathroom, prices can range anywhere from $8,000 to $30,000–and you will receive the quality you pay for.

It’s important to consider all factors of your remodeling dream, such as the type of tile you desire (which differ vastly in price) or the wood you want to have installed (which again, differs depending on the type). Every little detail will have a price tag on it, and we understand that that can be overwhelming, so take the time to talk out your vision with your contractor, like Renovate Paint and Design, and trust that they have your best interest in mind.  We will sit down and design the elements that go into updating kitchens and baths.  Or if you have a desire for a patio cover, deck, sunroom, or screened-in-porch, we can always help. We look forward to helping you create something beautiful in your home.
